Position Summary:
Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Skilled Highway Maintenance Technicians to work on the Traveling Bridge Crew to perform advanced maintenance operations in the US, primarily in VA and TN. This crew preferred to be based in the Northern Virginia area but will consider based in Nashville TN and must be able to work during the day shift, mid shift, and night shift. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to multi-level highway bridge repair maintenance, concrete repair, finger joint maintenance while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

 

Travel requirements: 75% of the time, overnight travel. First 6 months of work are scheduled in Alexandria Virginia and Nashville Tennessee but not guaranteed to remain in Virginia or Tennessee.
 

Required Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in construction industry
Minimum 1 year of related experience in bridge, structure construction, concrete form/placement, and repair work
Roadway or tollway maintenance experience


Preferred Experience:
Must be able to work with computer and smart phone applications
MOT Certifications (traffic control)
Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check
CDL A License a plus

Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Must have organizational and presentation skills
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Carry out simple arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use smart phone and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule and multi-task
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required
Ability to operate hand/power tools

Schedule:
Full time; with some night and weekend work if needed. Must be able to work during snow and ice events.
Will be placed on on-call schedule.
