Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Highway Maintenance Technician team to perform maintenance and herbicide applicator operations for in the Broward County, FL area.  This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to roadway construction and maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check

Preferred License:
Commercial Applicator License: CORE, Right of Way, and Aquatic (or willing to obtain within six (6) months)

Preferred Experience:
Restricted Use Pesticide License Aquatics & Right of Way 
CDL-B
Roadway maintenance experience
MOT Certifications

Qualifications:
CDL license preferred, but not required
Must have transportation to and from Company office
Ability to take direction
Produce quality work in an efficient manner
Agree to comply with all of our safety processes and procedures
Willingness to maintain and operate construction tools in a safe and proper manner
High School Diploma/GED
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Carry out simple arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use smart phone and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule, work overtime, nights and weekends
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be required
Ability to operate hand/power tools
 
Schedule:
Full time; must be flexible and willing to work on-call and overtime as needed.
