Position summary:  Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Road Rangers to perform maintenance operations in the Treasure Coast area.  The Road Rangers will be responsible for monitoring I-95.  Responsibilities include communicating with TMC for emergencies and/or incidents on the roadway; help mitigate delays caused by traffic incidents or obstructions on the road, increase safety of emergency responders, document all work performed with detailed time logs, etc.  The primary goal of the Road Ranger is to ensure, as much as possible and within the project and company policies, a free flow of traffic on the road and to assist responding agencies in safely securing a scene and reopening the roadway as quickly and safely as possible to meet the 90 minute Open Roads Policy goal and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

 
  • Must pass criminal background check run by Jorgensen as well as a State of Florida pre-employment screenings.  The State-run screening is an extensive screening and will include review of previous work record, school record, military record, criminal record, financial/credit status, as well as fingerprint processing. This information will be used in determining qualifications and fitness to have access to equipment and facilities which comprise the State Law Enforcement Radio System of the State of Florida.

Required Experience:
Hold and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License
Be fluent in English

Preferred Experience:
Roadway maintenance experience
MOT Certifications

Qualifications:
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Carry out simple arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use smart phone and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to operate hand/power tools
 
Salary:
 $16/hr+ depending on experience 


Schedule:  

Full time; 40 hours: 

  • Monday and Tuesday (1:00pm- 9:30pm)
  • Saturday (5:00AM- 5:30PM)
  • Sunday (5:30am- 5:30PM)
