Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a Full-time Janitorial Maintenance Technician to perform general Rest Area janitorial activities. This position is responsible for keeping the Rest Area interior clean (bathrooms, floors, walls, vending machines, etc.), scheduling assignments, preparing work areas, and conducting work to ensure the safety of occupants, continuity of business operations, and the cleanliness of all work areas. The position will support rest areas located in Broward County, FL.
The company desires an individual with a high degree of focus on customer service, exceptional technical skill, and an aptitude for facilities maintenance; along with executing preventive maintenance (PM) activities and including oversight of subcontracted services as required. The preferred candidate will have demonstrated knowledge in assisting with building inspections, maintenance and repairs as well as ability to quickly learn client sites, buildings, systems, norms of operation, occupancy and conditions of use in order to anticipate and respond to customer needs and requirements responsibly and professionally. Candidate should speak and understand English well, be customer service oriented, a self-starter, reliable, flexible, conduct themselves in a professional manner, be able to make informed decisions, and have a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean, sanitize, and disinfect restroom fixtures (toilets, sinks, mirrors, and surfaces).
- Restock restroom and common‑area supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, sanitizer).
- Sweep, mop, and clean floors, windows, vending areas, and common spaces.
- Empty trash and remove litter from rest areas, parking lots, walkways, and picnic areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of sidewalks, picnic tables, and surrounding grounds.
- Report maintenance issues, clean spills, and perform minor upkeep as needed
- Valid driver's license required
Must pass criminal background check
Preferred Experience:
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) - not required
- Basic plumbing and facilities maintenance experience a plus
- Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Carry out simple arithmetic functions
- Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
- Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
- Ability to use smart phone and applications
- Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
- Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to operate hand/power tools
Schedule:
Full time; Day shift - Monday through Friday. Must be able to work nights and weekends as required.
Salary:
$19.00+/hr depending on experience
