Working Foreman - Highway Maintenance Technician

Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Highway Maintenance Crew Lead/working Foreman to perform maintenance operations in the Nashville, TN area. This position requires leading others while performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, incident response, debris removal, sign repair, concrete repair, Longitudinal Cable Barrier (LCB), guardrail repair & installation, etc. as well as adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures. Crew Leaders guide the team to get the work done, monitor schedules, maintain equipment/supplies, train employees (guardrail, signage, etc), & maintain leave records.

Salary: Depends on licenses, certifications, and industry-related experience. 

Schedule:
Full time.  Must be flexible and available to work on-call when required which can include weekend and night work.

Required Experience:
Roadway maintenance experience
Leadership/Foreman experience - willing to perform work alongside the crew
Concrete forming/repair experience 
Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator
Driver License required

Preferred Experience:
MOT Certifications (traffic control)
Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check
CDL License a plus
Concrete forming experience
Longitudinal Cable Barrier (LCB) repair and installation
Guardrail repair & installation


Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Carry out simple arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use smart phone and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required
Ability to operate hand/power tools
