Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking a Contracts Coordinator to support unit price contracts in Texas. This position will be responsible for coordinating, tracking and maximizing efficiency of the bidding, tracking and prosecuting the work of multiple contracts, including large bundled bid contracts. This position reports to the Regional Manager.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of Specifications and Contract Documents.

  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of contract bid prices and contract estimates.

  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of historical bid tabulations and history.

  • Keep informed on relevant technical DOT legislation impacting the organization’s contract obligations, asset maintenance industry, unit price and performance based contracting.

  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, preparing progress reports, and liaising with key stakeholders

  • Produce reports and review action plans with management to improve productivity and increase efficiency

  • Strong interpersonal capabilities and ability to work cross-functionally with other leaders

Desired Skills

  • Roadway construction or highway maintenance experience preferred
    Excellent skill in interpreting standard and special specifications, special provisions and other contract documents.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills when addressing either individuals or groups

  • Ability to present information professionally.

  • Customer-service oriented and understanding of business acumen

  • Knowledge general industry regulations, active certifications

  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations and contracts

  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

  • Excellent verbal, phone, written, and communication skills and a commitment to collaborate with people.

  • At least 25% travel is required. Must be able to travel as directed by Regional Manager

Required experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or construction related degree or minimum of (3) years related experience and have demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the responsibilities

  • Strong, critical thinking skills & capable of anticipating organizational needs

  • Ability to work effectively handling multiple projects and assisting multiple management levels

Qualifications:

  • Extensive Knowledge of specifications and unit price contracts

  • Thorough knowledge of computer Programs

  • Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations

  • Skill if effective negotiation

  • Ability to carry out simple arithmetic functions

  • Ability to Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job

  • Ability to use smart phone and applications

  • Ability to adjust to changing work schedule

  • Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to operate hand/power tools

Schedule:

Full time. Monday – Friday 7:30-4:00pm. Must be able to work outside of set schedule, when needed.
