Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time or part-time Permits Coordinator/Engineering Technician to perform highway maintenance permits reviews and inspections in the Tampa, Spring Hill, and Citrus County, FL area. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, construction, and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee permits review, processing, and inspection program on project.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT contractor permits on client roadways/facilities.
  • Be responsible for the managing, scheduling and coordinating all resources including equipment, tools, personnel and material to ensure that permits are completed accurately and timely.
  • Provide accurate data input and timely client reporting.
  • Communicate accurately and effectively with contractors for permit inspection completion.
  • Promote company management philosophy through personal example; meet company and client goals for performance measurements including budget, pro-activity, responsiveness, and quality.
  • Follow safety policies, programs and procedures in the workplace as per governmental regulations and corporate safety programs

Requirements:

  • Two (2) or more years’ experience with permits and/or highway construction or maintenance
  • Clear and precise oral and written communication skills

Clean driving is essential and must pass criminal background check

Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Carry out simple arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use smart phone and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to operate hand/power tools
Knowledge and ability to perform computer work for basic operations including spread sheet work, Word documents, and Mapping.

Schedule:
Must be flexible.
