Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway/Facilities Skill Crew Technicians to perform maintenance operations in the Houston, TX area. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway and facilities maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Preferred experience:
Roadway maintenance experience
MOT certification (Traffic Control)
Class A Driver's License
Languages: English, bilingual (read/write)

Required Experience:
Each member of the crew shall be skilled and capable of completing various types of roadway/facilities maintenance including but not limited to:
  • Concrete forming and placement (i.e. barrier walls, sound walls, traffic islands, slope paving, foundations, gator heads, columns, etc.)
  • Concrete repair
  • Minor roadway repair
  • Lighting
  • Plumbing
  • Sanitary sewer systems
  • Routine maintenance of structural items
  • Potable water facilities
  • Carpentry
  • Floor installation
  • Cabinetry
  • Crash cushion attenuator (CCA) repair
  • Guardrail and attenuator installation/repair
  • Accident repair and clean-up
  • Drainage repair (i.e. manholes and inlets)
  • Applying MgCl to the roadway during cold-weather. Application of MgCl will be directed by HCTRA and
  • Support HCTRA’s de-icing and emergency operations
In addition to the above mentioned list the crew members shall also have at least three (3) or more years of progressively increased experience in painting, texturing, floating, finishing, wall repairs, sheet metal repair, and carpentry work.

Clean driving is essential and must pass criminal background check

Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Practical work experience
Exhibit strong customer service skills and a strong work ethic
Self-starter with a professional manner
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Neat, clean and presentable appearance
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds
